New Year’s Resolutions… love them - hate them, we’ve all done them. Here are 5 ways to help you follow through on them if you’ve set yourself some.

Mentally prepare yourself for change.

Stay positive and try not to make quick or big changes and rather build on the smaller changes. It's much easier to stick to something new when you start small. Small changes can equal big results so just remember that you don't have to change everything all at once.

Set a goal that motivates you

While it's great to have support in your goals, you don't want to be working towards something to please other people. Make sure that the goal is important to you and only you.  This will ensure that there is value to you in achieving your goal and this will become your motivation.

Keep your resolutions to a manageable amount

This way you can prioritise and know your personal limitations to achieve balance in reaching these goals. Again, if you bite off more than you can chew there is a higher likelihood of not sticking to those goals. If you haven't run before. Set your eyes on a 5k or 10k before a marathon.

Be specific

Instead of saying I’m going to run this year. Say I will run 10kms this year. Being specific will ensure you have better follow through. It's much easier to set a plan in place to work towards a specific end goal than a vague term.

Write down your goals

Life is manic and it can be easy to forget them. You’ll be able to track your progress this way too. Journaling is also a great way to track your progress. You can also go back and see how far you've come.

Happy New Year!🌻
